Give your RV Roof a new life with EPDM Rubber

Liquid roof coatings are aftermarket products designed to extend life, seal leaks, or merely provide a heat reflective or aesthetic function over existing roof surfaces. There are many products on the market ranging from asphalt based products, rubber solution [Hypalon, Neoprene, and Silicone], water based Acrylic and other emulsions, and chemically curing systems such as urethanes and now Liquid Roof®. Choosing the right product requires some knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of each.

The most widely used coatings for RV Roof Leaks Repair are Acrylic elastomeric products. These are easy to use, have good weather ability and cure quickly in warm weather. The weakness of these products, however, comes from the fact that they are water-based emulsions which make them vulnerable to sudden showers or freezing temperatures soon after application, and they have inherently poor resistance to ponding water. Another drawback for the Acrylic products is that they do not work over single ply EPDM membranes.

Liquid Roof is a true EPDM rubber and therefore could be described as a liquid version of the single ply EPDM membrane which has been established as an outstanding performance record of over 30 years. The EPDM chemistry has two unique features not possessed by any other rubber -it is unaffected by ultra-violet and ozone, and can tolerate continuous exposure at temperatures over 300 degrees F. The latter feature is also what gives EPDM rubbers the best aging properties [retain flexibility longer] of all the elastomers.

Commercial and Industrial Applications of EPDM Rubber

We specialize in the maintenance and repair of existing commercial flat roofs or commercial metal roofs. Impressive advances in roof coating technologies give us the tools to reliably extend the life of your present commercial roof without expensive tear offs and replacements. Your existing commercial roof is a source of cost savings over time for your business. Minimize costs with a program of timely inspections and timely maintenance.
Steel Siding For Buildings.

EPDM rubber is an excellent recoat and roof leaks repair product for roll formed steel siding which is starting to corrode at the bends. The rubber can be applied as one coat system with no corrosion inhibitive primer needed.

Fabricated steel in marine environments.
Cranes, tanks and support structures at dock facilities experience accelerated corrosion rates due to salt water exposure. EPDM coatings are not affected by salt and are ideal for this type of

Steel storage tank.
Elevated or on ground steel storage tank can be effectively protected with a EPDM rubber coating. Surface condensation, cathodic protection nor thermal stresses between sun and shady areas present problems for the coating.

Marine Uses.
(Product -9911 Ship Shape) EPDM rubber coatings can be effectively used on ships leaks repair, boats and barges repair. because of their inherent characteristics: i.e. Ultra Violet stability, salt resistance, excellent water resistance, low and high temperature tolerance and flexibility.9911 Ship Shape is designed specifically for marine use.

Uses of Liquid Rubber

Liquid Rubber provides an easy to apply seamless waterproof membrane that meets the ever increasing requirements of environmental and health and safety considerations."
Liquid Rubber was developed to address the recurring problems encountered by roof leaks. Our products are state of the art, with respect to today's environmental concerns and safe working practices. Liquid Rubber may be applied on rv roof, roof decks, metal roofs, gutters, structural steel, air conditioner enclosures, cooling towers, galvanized steel, unit heater flues, smoke stacks and chimneys, fiberglass and non porous masonry surfaces. Liquid Rubber is excellent for wood, canvas, cement, or metal roof repair over large surface areas.

Physical Properties of Liquid Rubber

The physical properties of Liquid Rubber(R) are typical of its EPDM chemistry. The outstanding characteristics include:

Extreme high resistance to penetration of water. Ultra Violet and Ozone stable. Excellent long term aging properties.

  1. Very broad temperature tolerance range (from 300 degrees F to minus 62 degrees F). Acid and alkali resistant.
  2. Withstands ponding water even when not cured.
  3. Spreading Rate A 20 mil dry film will result when liquid is applied at the rate of 42 sq. ft per gallon on a smooth surface.
  4. A rate of 45 sq. ft allows for average roughness.
  5. Weight/gallon 8 pounds (mixed).
  6. Tensile 680 psi.
  7. Elongation 180-200%.
  8. Brittle Point -62 degrees F.
