Why Consider a Polyurethane Foam Roof Coating Application?

A polyurethane foam roof coating can extend the life of your roof by 10 years or more.Sprayed Polyurethane Foam deteriorates quickly when exposed to the sun's UV-rays. It needs to be coated with a UV protective coating immediately after installation. Elastomeric roof coatings are the roofing material of choice for this application.
Typically, polyurethane foam roofs have 1-2 inches of foam sprayed over an existing roof such as metal, built up or modified bitumen. It is then topcoated with an elastomeric roof coating to provide a watertight, UV protective membrane.

Polyurethane foam must be recoated every 10 years or so as a preventive measure.

Polyurethane Foam Roof Restoration Process

Cleaning and Surface Preparation

The entire polyurethane roof was thoroughly washed using a 3,000 psi pressure washer. A biodegradeable degreaser was used to ensure a clean surface. All seams, flashings and penetrations were carefully sealed to render the roof watertight.

Priming

Priming ensures a good adhesion between the polyurethane foam roof surface and the
elastomeric coating.

Top Coating

At least 30 dry mils of elastomeric roof coating is applied on the entire polyurethane foam roof in 2 coats.

I didn't install foam roof coatings yet but now i am thinking about to go for these foam roof coatings because i don't have much time to repair my roofs in every season. I hope these roof coatings 'll give me the maximum results and increase the life of my roofs.
